Does this leave a white cast?

No, The One is the ultimate transparent sunscreen that has been tested on a sample of all skin tones (1 – 6) within the Fitzpatrick Scale with our advised quantity (½ a teaspoon for face and neck, or roughly 3 fingers’ worth) without leaving any white cast. Please see our before and after photos for assurance.

Can I wear it under makeup?

Yes, The One is not only a transparent, water-resistant broad-spectrum SPF 50 PA++++ sunscreen, it also works as a great primer for your makeup.

How often should I reapply The One?

Great question! We recommend that you apply The One liberally every morning (no matter the weather/season), 15 minutes before sun exposure and as needed. You should reapply: • 80 minutes of swimming or sweating • immediately after towel drying • at least every 2 hours when exposed to direct sunlight Warnings: For external use only. Do not use on damaged or broken skin. When using this product, keep out of eyes. Rinse with water to remove. Stop use and ask a doctor if rash occurs. Keep out of reach of children.

What does PA++++ mean?

This is a statement of the UVA protection – The One has the highest possible PA rating of PA++++ meaning your skin has high protection against UVA rays.

How much of The One should I use to receive maximum protection?

To receive the protection stated, The One should be applied generously with at least ½ teaspoon for face and neck (¼ for face and ¼ for neck). This is roughly equivalent to 3 finger-lengths worth. Sunscreen application is advised as “generously” to account for variances in people’s application and impressions of how much ¼ / ½ teaspoon actually is. Applying less sunscreen does not “lower the SPF number” but can drastically lower the overall protection of the sunscreen by providing incomplete coverage of the skin.

Why does it need to be applied every 2 hours?

Sunscreen protection gradually decreases over time once applied due to various factors. One of the most discussed is UV filters degrading as they absorb UV rays. However, sunscreen protection also diminishes due to more mundane factors such as the skin being touched; sunscreen being wiped off accidentally; and your skin going through its other natural processes such as sweating and shedding dead cells. These factors combined impact sunscreens’ ability to offer the full protection as stated, however your sunscreen will not “stop working” after two hours. We promise.

Is this a chemical or physical sunscreen? And what is the difference?

• The One is a chemical sunscreen. “Chemical” sunscreen is the popular name for Organic sunscreens / filters – organic in this case meaning being carbon-based chemicals, and not related to organic production/farming methods. • Likewise, “Physical” sunscreen is the popular name for Inorganic filters. These are also often called “mineral” filters. • In actuality, both types of sunscreens are chemicals and both are physical. Organic filters are a group of chemicals used as sunscreens which work mostly by absorbing UV rays and releasing the energy as heat. They offer additional benefits in sunscreen formulation including generally being the most cosmetically elegant due to most of them appearing transparent on the skin making them less likely to be seen on the skin, particularly more melanated skin. Inorganic filters also work by mostly absorbing UV rays, contrary to the belief that they work by reflecting the rays away and/or “physically” shielding the skin. Inorganic filters include zinc oxide and titanium dioxide and can make equally efficacious sunscreens, with the caveat that they will usually leave a “white cast” or chalky appearance on the skin when applied properly.

Formulated with a 25% Blend of chemical sunscreen filters, Vitamin C, Green Tea, Carrot Seed & Licorice Root, as well as Antioxidants and Skin Conditioners, this transparent sunscreen gel helps combat free radicals and protects the skin from harmful environmental aggressors, like UV rays and pollution. As well as soothing, conditioning and nourishing, which, in turn, make it less susceptible to irritation. 

Moreover, this clinically proven formula conditions the skin, blurs the appearance of pores, and is rich in skin-protecting antioxidants. Dispense 1-3 pumps of your serum or booster into your hands. Gently massage onto your face and neck, focusing on fine lines and wrinkles. Hydrates and rejuvenates.

MOISTURISERS

Apply eye and lip treatments to nourish these delicate areas. Follow with your moisturiser to lock in hydration. Finish with a face oil to provide an extra layer of moisture.

Slathered in sunscreen gel

Pretty amazing so far. Goes on silky smooth and leaves skin looking fresh and bright. Never tried an SPF like this one before. Might well be the holy grail.

Incredible product!

This is the best facial sunscreen I have ever used. It’s a cooling gel that goes on so smoothly you don’t feel it on your face. It is not greasy or oily and does not feel like you have anything on your face. Cannot recommend this product highly enough! Used it in the Australian outback and the coverage was exceptional.
